Swarovski Elements Exhibition: JOWAHER

The Swarovski Elements: Jowaher-Glittering Nite

The event was expectedly a star-studded extravaganza, literally.
XVA Gallery, my favorite Shangrila for the arts was perfectly stupendous setting for an ambiance show.

The Moorish architecture and Arabic folkloric structure added the luxury of the Swarovski crystallized display.Set inside the inner expansive courtyard, the spectacularly ornate creations made the event undoubtedly grand, beneath shimmering textures and regalia.

Glitterati
The evening showcased the most exquisite and exclusive fashion merchandise. This time, couture extended beyond sartorial boundaries and stiletto-ed into the glittering world of designers' jeweleries, accessories, shoes, interiors and lamps. The "force de femme" of Swarovski treasures -- brillants and diamants that glowed like planets, shimmering crystals cascading like falling stars and other Swarovski components that glittered in the romantic and mystical night...stunning indeed.

Arabic designers in the region unveiled their line of jewellery along with the collection of ensembles. Encrusted with stones, bags were created elegantly, then there were the body of rocks, the hanging chandeliers with full Swarovski crystals in every shape...so dazzling that I wanted to take them home!

The dashing Managing Director of Swarovski Middle East, Monsieur WARNER BAUMGARTER's devotion to diamantes earned him a collaborative venture with TOP ARABIC DESIGNERS alongside bejeweled abaya couture and accessories.

                                                             The Modern Abayas

The abaya is a long overgarment essentially a robe-like dress, worn by middle eastern women.
Traditional abayas are black and may be either a large square of fabric draped from the shoulders or head or a long caftan.

Abayas are known by various names but serve the same purpose, which is to cover. Contemporary designs are usually caftans, cut from light flowing fabrics like crepe, georgette and chiffon. Styles differ from region to region: some abayas have embroideries on black material while others are brightly coloured and have different forms of artworks.

Participating labels for the Abaya Show: Sohad Acouri, Nariman, Burj Al Ali, Kyles Collection, Kanzi, Hanayen, Sweet Lady, First Choice House, First Lady, Bukanan and Zumorrod.
Ranging from intricate to bold ensembles, the traditional abayas oozed luxury when embellished with Swarovski components.. Wispy chiffon and georgettes were deliciously splurged with glitters to heighten fantasies, with rich silk taffeta and heavy satin added subtle magnificence. Chantilly lace made many an ethereal appearance, overall.... no matter what texture or fiber, Swarovski diamantes reigned supreme!!!

MICHAEL CINCO's PFW 2012 : GLAMOROUS RETURN

MICHAEL CINCO made an explosive return to the Philippine Fashion Week S/S 2012 on 24th of October at the SMX venue with his usual glamorous take on fashion, with flashes in the photographer's pit, arrays of celebrities, fashionistas, sunset colours and the cutest show stopper you might ever see-film actress Miss Anne Curtis. Cinco's return to the catwalk in dramatic fashion was expected by his fashion followers, not anything less. Nonetheless, fashion was in his DNA, and destiny. It was already been tweeted that all e-invites had been already taken just in few minutes after it was launched. He is simply the haute artist!.

CINCO is a designer who can not only create beautiful clothes but also shows an astonishing drama on the catwalk where his dreams and his journeys are  about far more than the clothing presentations. A Slim's graduate, MICHAEL CINCO does exactly that. Showing at the PFW S/S 2012, pure LUXEWEAR with intricate workmanship and details..

Often referencing to his impalpable dreams, the gods and goddesses brought the magic to his latest collection, obviously Cino's talents are indeed endless. Exquisite luxury and genuine elegance was in every piece, from his immaculate pearl opener of Venus necklines to deep low V-necks. Glitzy evening dresses paired with chic platform shoes complemented the haute influences of his show.

At his catwalk, every piece seemed like the finale piece, unexpected pauses and wondrous creations were revealed including a luxurious Phoenix inspired gladiator goddesses and the Santorini sunset collection. His Greek sojourn played a key role on his theme. The light yellow to burnt red sunset palette was with a theatrical feel with a restrictive sillhouettes of fitted hips and biased floor length gowns in tiny sequins, laser cuts and Swarovski stones.

However the hugely anticipated climax of his show with male models in sculpted bodies and scantily clads flared up the his visuals and made the audience went wild with a sensuous shower act that found no match to all of the PFW pevious shows.
