Bridal Beauty- Getting Your Blusher Right
For your big day a nice natural blush effect is best, you do not need to apply a great deal more than you would normally feel comfortable wearing as at the end of the day you are creating a natural day make-up. Using a light highlighter along with your blusher just above the cheekbone, working towards the brow bone will give a nice subtle glow & will add more definition to your cheek bones. Cream blushers give a nice natural effect & can create a barely there make-up look but still give you a 'flush' of colour on your cheeks. If you decide to opt for this wear a primer underneath & apply to an un-powdered finish then lightly powder afterwards to set, this will make the blusher last longer. If opting for a powder use a large brush & sweepgently across the cheek. For a youthful & natural look, apply blusher to the apples of the cheeks, these are the fleshy part of your cheeks when you smile. Remember that you only need to take the colour up slightly in order to see it in the photos, the flash of the camera can strip some of the colour away, but if you opt for a high quality blusher such as Mac then the pigments will still show through & give you a nice finish for the photos.

Winter Skin Care Products by Tiffany
Winter is definitely a changing time for your skin. Having the heater on in your home dries your skin out and the weather outside isn't too "skin friendly" either. Tiffany D gives us some fabulous products to try that will help combat this season and keep us looking flawless and glowing! Commentary is by Tiffany and my comments will be in red =).
I am totally in love with Origins products as of late. This is their Starting Over Moisturizer. It's oil free which I love because it makes my skin feel comfortable, it's very very moisturizing but it doesn't give me that "extra layer" which I don't really like (who does right???). I use this at night after my normal skin care routine. It works well with my oily skin.
I have been using this in the mornings. It's Origins VitaZing with SPF-15 which is great for day to day. It says it's "an energizing moisturizer with mangosteen (fruit grown in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Rare in the US since the actual fruit can't be brought in but is thought to have many healing properties. It's also found in the Xango drinks). This is the most unique moisturizer that I have ever used. A lot of times I don't even have to use foundation. It's not technically a tinted product. When it comes out, it's white but has tan beads. I use it and then my MAC Mineralized Skin Finish just to ward off shine. It evens me out as I apply it and you can see your skin brighten up...it's InSaNe!!! It has a citrusy sweet smell. Every skin tone can use it. I love it!!!
When I do apply foundation I still stick with my Makeup Forever Matte Velvet Plus (a MUST!!! It is like silk on your skin. I'll be doing a review on that soon) or NARS Sheer Glow (both can be found at Sephora).
The eye cream that I like is the Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Daily Anti-Fatigue Cream (mouthful much???). It's great because you don't need to spend a lot to get a great eye cream. I use it morning and night.
(Sorry, couldn't resist putting our manly vamp up here using his EOS Lip Balm...Priceless!!!)
Also remember to take care of you lips, hands, your whole BoDy!!! It's really important. I use EOS Lip Balm and really bought it just because it looked so cute, but it's really great quality! I use it at night before bed and even under my lipstick and/or gloss. It's very non greasy so as not to interfere with your daily lip routine and it also stays on a long time too.
I love the Shea Cashmere Hand Cream from Bath & Body Works. I keep one in my purse and one by my bed. The more you use it the better your cuticles will look too =).

I also used to use many of the Bath & Body Works lotions and a lot of the Victoria Secret but I have all but ThRoWn them all away for the love of Renew Lotion!!!
YES it's a Melaleuca product and I am SO sorry that you need to be a member to get the great prices but you can be a direct customer and buy whatever, whenever without needing to make an order every month. I highly look into it because you can also get the Nicole Miller (now Se Belle) bronzer!!!
Tiffany D can be found at her YouTube channel here. =)

Do you have a favorite product that you have tried this month and want to tell us about it? Please email me at dollcosmetics@gmail.com. Remember that it does NOT have to be makeup! Remember last month I raved about jeans???
I've Been Spotlighted!!!
One of my contest winners from last year wrote to me telling me about her new blog. It's all about her B-Priceless clothing line and other fun trends. She said that she would like to spotlight amazing women and I made the cut!!! Can you believe it? I was so humbled by her request and so grateful that she thought I was cool enough =). Editorial on Ben Trovato
I had the chance to do makeup & hair with one of my favourite photographers, Alan Chan for an exclusive editorial for Ben Trovato blog. The shoot was 70's inspired with a retro vibe. I kept the makeup in the same tones of the clothes and the hair super straight with lots of volume at the roots. You can check out all the pics on the bloghttp://bentrovatoblog.com/photography/foxy-saturday-by-alan-chan/ and I've posted a few below as a preview.

Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt & top model Jodie Kidd join Marks & Spencer to support BUAV Campaign to End Animal Testing in Europe
Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt and top model Jodie Kidd, along with British actress Jenny Seagrove and designer Meg Matthews, are among the first celebrities to support the BUAV in saying NO to cruel cosmetics. They are joined by companies that do not test their cosmetics on animals, including high street giants Marks & Spencer, male grooming brand Bulldog and Kimberly Wyatt’s new make-up range BM Beauty in supporting BUAV’s campaignto end the sale of cosmetics in the EU that have been cruelly tested on animals.
The EU is due to ban the sale of all new cosmetics and toiletries that have been tested on animals outside the EU from 2013. However, officials are now considering extending this deadline. This is despite massive public opposition to animal tested cosmetics and an existing ban on conducting animal tests for cosmetics inside the EU. The 2013 ban on sales could be delayed for 10 more years during which thousands of animals will be injected, gassed, force-fed and killed for cosmetics on sale in the EU.
Mike Barry, Head of Sustainable Business at Marks & Spencer stated “We know that animal testing is a significant concern for our customers, and that great products can be manufactured safely without the use of animal tests. All our beauty products carry the BUAV leaping bunny symbol and we fully support the BUAV's campaign to ensure the 2013 deadline is implemented.”
Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt said “My make-up range BM Beauty is approved free from animal testing by BUAV proving that there is no need to test beauty products on animals. Don’t delay the ban on selling cruel beauty products in the EU any longer. Say NO to Cruel Cosmetics.”
Simon Duffy, Co-Founder of Bulldog said: "At Bulldog, we believe that testing cosmetics and toiletries on animals is cruel and unnecessary, which is why our products carry the Leaping Bunny as independently approved by the BUAV. We urge everybody to sign the BUAV's petition and say NO to cruel cosmetics in Europe."
Jenny Seagrove stated: "Testing toiletries and cosmetics on animals is cruel and unnecessary and must be stopped as soon as possible. Please sign the BUAV's No Cruel Cosmetics petition calling on the EU to uphold its ban for 2013 on the sale of these cruel products.”
BUAV runs the internationally recognised scheme that enables consumers to identify and purchase cruelty-free products. In the UK this scheme, the Humane Cosmetic Standard, is identified by the Leaping Bunny Logo. Marks & Spencer, Bulldog and BM Beauty all carry the BUAV Leaping Bunny logo. www.buav.org

Reader Request: Dark Under Eye Circles
I got an email from Erica asking about under eye circles. I know that a LOT of my readers have this problem!!! Those pesky critters (am I Davy Crockett?) are famously annoying and unforch, there's no way to get rid of them. However, you have options for concealing them. So let us focus on the positive and we will do our BEST to get the right product in your hands and learn some tips for proper application. Let's tackle your first option:
*Concealer*
You should look for a concealer than is moisturizing and won't give you "dinosaur skin" under your eyes. Of course with a creamier product, you need to set it well with a good setting powder. Try to pick a shade (remember yellow will combat blue) lighter than your foundation. If your circles are super dark then try two shades. PLEASE don't go TOO light or you will look like a raccoon!!! I've dealt with models that have this problem and there are a few products that are my "go to's". I'll share them with ya cuz I like ya so much =):
- Sue Devitt Automatic Camouflage
- Erase Paste by Benefit (super creamy, use Powderflage to set)
- Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
- Laura Mercier's Undercover
(best drugstore find? Maybelline's New York Cover Stick)
I also find that if you really want to pull out the big guns then use a highlighter on the inner corners to brighten! My most fav and an overall crowd please is the Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat. Did you know that this product is SO popular that one is sold somewhere in the world every 20 seconds??? You can use this also for contouring!
Now I have Gwen Stefani's song (and maybe my ring tone) playing in my head,"Now that you got it whachu gonna do about it?" You have your concealer, how the JUNK do ya put it on??? Well I'll TELL you...
- Moisturize eye area and let it "soak" into your skin for a minute.
- Add a primer to you face and coat your under eye well so that when you use concealer, it will be less likely to settle into fine lines and wrinkles.
- Apply concealer with fingers or a brush (I aDORE using a MAC 217 for this!!!).
- Blend softly so it becomes "one" with your skin. Don't tug because the under eye is very delicate and you'll just make the concealer travel.
- Set it with a loose powder (I swear by Benefit Powderflage). I like to use a sponge or any fluffy soft brush (MAC 224 is a great example).
Option Two:
*Eye Cream*
Invest in a vitamin-K based product. Basically buy an eye cream like Vita-K Solution gel or Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue that can help strengthen capillary walls so dark circles and veins become less visible.
Option Three:
*Laser Treatment*
If you have chronic under eye circles than you can contact your trusty doctor about lasers. Lasers can thicken the skin by increasing collagen production, so you are less likely to see veins, according to Los Angeles facialist Kate Somerville in InStyle mag (LOVE it!!!).
So that is what I have found to be helpful and I hope that helped you too! Remember that going to Sephora can be SO much fun because you can test out EvErYtHiNg!!! Do it and DON'T be ashamed. I look like an absolute FREAK by the time I walk out of there. Like I'm totally tribal and preparing for war! Join me, it's fun to be "special" LOL.

Creative sensational from different parts of the world taking style, beauty and definition of fashion to its edge, promotional linchpin of a multibillion-dollar industry, I am talking about nothing else but Fashion Weeks. Fashion weeks are hallmarks of fashion industry to rollout the new season feel in fashion. They generally last up to a week allowing fashion designers, artists and fashion houses to display their latest collection. It hallmarks next seasons in things, that's why it is very important for buyers, media, celebrities and entertainment industry who take that fashion among the general public.
The most famous fashion weeks are held at Fashion Mecca Paris, Milan, London and New York. Since the new millennium fashion weeks are held in different parts of the world to put the local fashion on the world map and making a packed fashion calendar throughout the year. A refreshing sense of national identity and pride has emerged from the achievements of fashion sector - something that was otherwise traditionally been restricted to feats of sporting prowess, adding that its benefits go well beyond the fashion world (Emling 2006).
Fashion weeks are held several months in advance giving chance to designers, media and buyers to preview the trend for the next season. Fashion weeks are bi-annual events; the fashion weeks conducted between January and March are called “fall fashion weeks” whereas the one conducted in September through November are called “Spring Fashion Weeks”. Some fashion weeks can be genre-specific, such as a Miami Fashion Week (Swimwear), PrĂȘt-a-Porter (ready-to-wear) Fashion Week, Couture (one-of-a-kind designer original) Fashion Week, Palm Springs Fashion Week (Resort Collections) and Bridal Fashion Week.
History
Omission of fashion week history would be curious at this point of time. Let me throw some light on that. Edna Woodman Chase—former editor of Vogue organized "Fashion Fete," in 1914 to benefit the war-relief effort which is often apocryphally called the first fashion show ever. By the 1920s, the fashion show had gone mainstream. Early shows were often more theatrical than those of today.

Carrie Underwood Prom Hairstyle Ideas 2011
Getty Images.
American Idol champ Carrie Underwood may have recently chopped all of her hair into a cute blond bob, [editors note: it was faux!] but a lot of her fun and flirty looks would be fantastic hairstyles for prom. Carrie, like many country stars, tends to take it to the next level when it comes to hair - so you might want to look here for prom hairstyles with lots of volume and drama.
For the Grammy Awards, Carrie's stylist pulled the singer's blown-out hair into this slightly-messy ponytail. It works for the occasion because the sections of hair around Carrie's face remain smooth and sleek. This was one of several hair looks Carrie sported that night.
At the People's Choice Awards, Underwood opted for a simple half-up, half-down hairstyle, with gentle curls.
She later put her hair up in this sweet-looking updo, probably to show off the sparkly neckline of her Jenny Packham dress.
Carrie wore her hair straight and half-up, half-down for the American Idol finals in 2008. She appears to have her hair pinned back underneath a section of straight hair, hiding the clasp.
Carrie's hair, in this picture, appears to have been blown-out and gently teased around the crown of the head for added volume.
At a movie premiere last year, Carrie opted for a super-romantic sideswept hairstyle that looks difficult to do at home, but could be perfect for prom.

THINK PINK FOR THIS SEASON’S WINNING LOOK WITH MYFACE COSMETICS . . .
Pastel toned makeup is set to be a huge beauty trend this spring and screen icons like Claire Danes and Lea Michelle are already setting the pink standard. . .
For the perfect pink pout, artistic director of myface cosmetics, Kabuki says . . .
“Always outline and fill in the entire lips using a lipliner in a matching colour to your lipstick. If you don't want to sport a full on lipstick effect try applying as a soft stain. Simply pat on lipstick like the myface cosmetics gigabite lipstick in sweet dreams (£9.99, Boots) using your finger for the best result. Dab a tissue to your lips after the first application and then reapply a second time to make the colour last and last".
Newly appointed artistic director of myface cosmetics, Kabuki is the master of high-fashion fantasy and real-world beauty, which has made him a favourite of pop-icons Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani and Madonna as well as Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker. In fact, SJP's signature Sex & The City dewy complexion, soft pink cheeks and glittering eyes were all part of Kabuki's magic.

Company Magazine to be based at Heathrow Terminal 5 this week!
Company magazine, the glossy monthly women’s title published by the National Magazine Company, will this week be editing the March issue of the magazine at Heathrow Terminal 5 – a world first for the magazine industry.
From Monday January 17 to Friday January 21, as part of Company’s ‘Hello World’ campaign, the 30-strong editorial team will be writing the magazine at a relocated Company office in the middle of the Terminal 5 departures space. ‘Hello World’ is a 12-month campaign to encourage, inform and advise young women on all aspects of worldwide travel.
Travellers at Terminal 5 will be able to watch the Company team at work as they create content for the magazine around their ‘Hello World’ campaign, featuring interviews with airline staff, real-life airport fashion spotting, and a 15-page fashion feature shot inside the terminal itself. Also in the issue will be a shoot with Total Wipeout’s globe-trotting presenter Amanda Byram, and the man behind the ‘Gap Yah’ YouTube sensation, Matt Lacey. In addition, the Company fashion team will be executing another ‘first’ for Heathrow, by shooting part of their fashion feature out on the airfield.
Victoria White, Editor, Company magazine, says: “As a world-first, editing a magazine at an airport terminal is something we’re incredibly excited about here at Company. It’s a perfect fit with our Hello World campaign, which will hopefully highlight the benefits of world travel for young women, whether they be students, professionals or just fancy holidaying somewhere different! The logistics of doing an entire 8-page fashion shoot using only liquids less than 100ml will be a challenge, though – we’re going to have to pack carefully!”
Meribeth Parker, Group Publishing Director, Company magazine, says: “Editing an issue of a monthly glossy magazine from inside an airport terminal is typical of Company’s can-do attitude! It’s a brave move by the editorial team to put together fashion shoots, interviews and features amongst the bustle of an international airport, but if anyone can do it, they can.”
Malcolm Robertson of Heathrow says: “We’re delighted to be working with Company in this world first – and to support the magazine’s campaign to encourage more young women to go out and see the world. The office will add a unique and unexpected dimension to the journeys of the five million people expected to fly through Terminal 5 during Company’s residency. Passengers will be able to enjoy the live theatre of watching the Company team putting together the magazine and the chance to potentially appear in one of the UK’s leading fashion and lifestyle magazines.”
For live updates from the Company team at Heathrow, follow twitter.com/COMPANYMAGAZINE
The Global Issue, featuring all the content from Company’s week at Terminal 5, will appear in the March issue, on sale February 12.
